We are one of the most important manufacturers of industrial valves in the world. Since our foundation in the 19th century by James Walworth, we have focused our efforts on innovating and producing different lines of products for fluid control.

The experience accumulated on this long and successful journey and the combination of a spirit of constant innovation allows us to provide satisfactory solutions to a wide range of industries and end users by meeting and exceeding the strictest quality standards. Some of these industries include petrochemical, gas, oil, electric power generation, pulp and paper processing companies related to geothermal and cryogenic technologies.

In our history, we have produced more than 40,000 different products which has placed us as a global corporation serving different markets. WALWORTH® has facilities in Mexico, USA, and China for the manufacturing of valve lines in a complete flow of operations.

These include raw material warehouses, different types of machining, welding processes such as SMAW, GMAW, SAW, PAW, assembly, testing, painting process, packaging and shipping. In our facilities in Mexico, we have a testing laboratory for design validation which includes the following: tests for low and high temperature service, cryogenic tests, fire test, fugitive emission and magnet tests.

All this infrastructure allows us to satisfy the market of North America, Central America, South America, Europe and Africa. Our master distributors allow us to reach countries as far away as Indonesia, Singapore or Australia, as well as the Middle and Far East.

1840 - WINTER

The business relationship between J.J. Walworth and Joseph Nason ends, due to Nason's inability to tolerate Boston winters.

James Jones Walworth and Joseph Nason established WALWORTH® in New York City, dedicated to the manufacture of heating systems for residences, offices and the transmission of hot water through iron pipes.

1843 - FIRST FLOOR

The first plant is established at Bake's Court in Boston, New England, for the manufacture of iron pipes. The company is listed on the Boston board of directors as an engineering and iron pipe manufacturing company.

The need to control fluids within heating installations led the company to develop the first valve system and its accessories.

The globe valve is a patented design developed, then optimized for use in the water, gas and steam industries.

WALWORTH® is recognized as the first American company to successfully introduce the steam vent system in the United States.

Many shipping companies, such as Collins Line, implement WALWORTH® equipment. During this same year, the company began to diversify its products.

WALWORTH® implements the heating system in the White House during President Franklin Pierce's administration.

S.J. Peet develops dual disc conical valves.

Dan Stillson develops the well-known Stillson wrench, a tool of its kind that would rapidly become internationally known.

1872 - INTERNATIONAL PRESTIGE

The WALWORTH® facility in Boston is dynamited after the building is destroyed in a fire. However, WALWORTH® is quickly rebounding and begins to be recognized as a company of international prestige.

1875 - FIRST PHONE CALL

The first two-way telephone conversation took place with the cooperation of WALWORTH®. Alexander Graham Bell asked WALWORTH® for permission to make use of telegraph wiring to carry out call initiation tests. The experiment was a success.

1896 - 8-HOUR SCHEDULE

WALWORTH® is one of the pioneers in adopting 8-hour work schedules, half-day work on Saturdays, employee savings plans and early adopters of the telephone and typewriter. In this same year, founder J.J. Walworth passed away.

Throughout this century, WALWORTH® has established itself as one of the world's leading manufacturers of globe, gate and check valves The designs are manufactured with various materials such as cast steel, as well as specialized designs depending on the industry's requirements, including nuclear, marine and military.
