  • Flow shut-off valve. This design, while API-599 compliant, conforms in many aspects to the requirements for API-6D compliance; that is, they can be used in applications for the control of petroleum and petroleum products, although their use is more common in pipeline control.
  • These types of valves also meet the guidelines of recommended practice MSS-SP-78 ("Gray Iron Plug Valves, Flanged and Threaded Ends"). This specification shows the requirements as per WOG pressures while the API-599 standard does it in ANSI / ASME pressures.
  • Top entry design is commonly used in less critical services in drive systems.
  • -Short model is available for diameters from NPS 1/2 to NPS 12 in CWP Class 200.
    -Standard model is available for diameters from NPS 2 to NPS 12 in CWP Class 200.
    -Ventury model is available for diameters from NPS 14 to NPS 318 in CWP Class 175 and from NPS 6 to NPS 8 in CWP Class 500.

DESIGN FEATURES

NORMAL PLUG IRON PLUG VALVE (Top entry).

  1. Design in accordance with API-599 Standard and recommended practice MSS-SP-78.
  2. Body in ASTM A126 class B material with wall thicknesses in accordance with ASME B16.42.
  3. Threaded end dimensions for NPS ½ to 2 diameters in accordance with ASME B1.20.1.
  4. For flanged ends, flat face (FF) body flange dimensions in accordance with ASME B16.1.
  5. Centerline to flange face dimensions for Class 200 CWP in accordance with ASME B16.10.
  6. Normal plug Tapered (tapered) and anti-friction lined style design.
  7. Opening and closing indicator by means of a ¼ turn stop ring to indicate the position of the plug (open or closed). It also incorporates a locking device.
  1. O-ring sealing system in stem chamber as primary seal.
  2. Lever-actuated and ¼ turn opening.
  3. Mechanical balancing spring.
  4. -Short model is available for diameters from NPS 1/2 to NPS 12 in CWP Class 200.
    -Standard model is available for diameters from NPS 2 to NPS 12 in CWP Class 200.
    -Ventury model is available for diameters from NPS 14 to NPS 18 in CWP Class 175, and from NPS 6 to NPS 8 in CWP Class 500.
  5. Performance testing in accordance with API-598 and MSS-SP-78.
